Spending Time With People
It's the last week of my friend's (L) confinement after giving birth to her 3rd child. To utilise this remaining free time she has, we spent the whole of today doing, or rather trying to, do some tai-tai thing...
She sms to tell me that the baby poo-ed and because she had to change his diaper, will be late to meet me. And me being early, I started the outing in the most wonderful way. I had a New Zealand Orange Chocolate Chip.

Mmmm... Delicious!!
L arrived 15 mins later. We proceeded to Dragon Gate Restaurant for its dim sum buffet. We had all the time we want to have the buffet, so we ordered random dim sums to try.
A pity they don't have the Chee Cheong Fun and the rice dish wrapped in lotus leaf anymore. As such, the menu has limited items listed. Anyhow, it was good to be able to spend time with her as she shares with me what she has been doing during this time of confinment and her other misadventures in life.
Then, it was time we do "walk-walk" around the shopping centre. I guess the fact that we are on tai-tai timing gave me a reason to go into shop after shop to "browse", and I end up buying a couple of "stuffs" from a boutique. We walk somemore, and guess what I found?

A Mr Bean figure! Hmm... I wonder if Mr Atkinson knows about this...
All this time, L was asking if I would like to join her on a trial to a slimming session at a beauty salon. I didn't feel strongly on it. But I think a part of me didn't think it was necessary, the thought of having to go through another round of bo-loh-soh by those sales promoters in beauty consultant uniforms is kinda daunting. So we parted ways when it was time for her to go for the appointment, while I went to get cinema tickets for a show with my nieces on Saturday.
While on my way to the cinema, L messaged me and said that they can't do the procedure for her because she is having her monthly biological thing. Me on the other hand, was unable to get the tickets because, strangely enough, the box office sales person says the schedule for Saturday is not out yet. Looks like we are destined to spend the whole day together, haha! ;)
We agreed that the best thing to do to spend the rest of the day is to go to her house. But after I go Taka to check out some ladies stuffs first.
Wah, it's the season of the year again. The Great Singapore Sale. There were big sale signs littered along the storefronts leading from Wisma to Taka. I had to tell myself to be focused and not be distracted by other sale items. Got my stuff and hurried pass the same route, not daring to even cast a glance at the stores, which, by now, are thronged with people. Makes me wonder... They also took leave to shop? So many people!
Reached L's house and saw her new baby. Kid 2 too. I get to carry baby and also talk to Kid 2, who seem to have VERY very short attention span and selective hearing. Then Kid 1 came home from child care. She wasn't sure of me at first, although she has seen me before. After a few rounds of chatting, Kid 1 became more comfortable with me.
After dinner, we went to the nearby mall, as I wanted to get a music CD. Kid 1 actually held my hand when we started out towards the mall. And whenever we are in a storeo, she will go "Aunty, auntieeee!!!!" and drag me to some section of the stores and start to do her point-and-tell. We ended our trip with a coffee session at a snacks joint nearby. Kid 1 has become comfortable with me by now and involves me in her regular routines with mommy, like drinking MILO or eating french fries.
We parted ways after finishing the fries. As with any mother, L asked Kid 1 if she would like me the aunty to go back home with her. Kid says yes, but her mommy says we have no bed for me. She pretended to pout and gave me a hug, and pretended to want to follow me home. But quickly ran back to mommy when L pretended to go back home on her own.
It has been a wonderful day. Tai-tai or not tai-tai, I think it has been good, because I get to spend quality time with people, and doing things without feeling the need to rush.
